Study program Philosophy

„On pathways of knowledge guided by the wisdom”

Studying philosophy does not mean to deal only with its history, but to acquire the skills of critical thinking in order to properly perceive the world in which we live. With its theories, concepts and ideas, philosophy is the foundation for all other sciences, especially social sciences and the humanities. Its century-long continuous duration in various forms of education reveals not only the richness of the overall scientific knowledge, but also shows the extent to which it is a scientific field that develops in accordance with historical and social changes.

Philosophy has a special role today at the beginning of the 21st century. the century when, after the digital revolution, we are confronted with new questions about the meaning of human existence, new moral dilemmas, the examination of the basis of language and thinking, questions about the relation between virtual and real. To build a critical and independent thinking that will be presented with clear arguments is important today for every domain of life.

Although a philosophy study is formally aimed at acquiring a diploma for future professors in secondary schools, knowledge acquired is applicable in many spheres of society such as the media, civil society, public institutions , or as a basis for further scientific-research work within other scientific disciplines and in interdisciplinary fields.
